"I just so sleepy..."

Asher's been having some sleep "issues" recently. He's not ready to drop his nap (which we've learned by trial... the days we skipped his nap, he was in grumpy hysterics by 4:00, begging for sleep. He was in bed, asleep by 5:45). The issue comes, however, in that if he sleeps at all during the day, he has a tough time getting to sleep at night. He and Ezra share a room and Ezra is an early riser. Many mornings, we hear Ezra waking Asher... "buddy, hey buddy, wake up. It's day out." We've talked with Ezra about not waking Asher up first thing... Ezra's having a hard time remembering that one - especially when he's so excited that another day has come!

All this to say, Asher is not getting enough sleep. Many mornings by 10:30, Asher is asking for rest. Today was just such a day. Asher hit a wall and then just started wailing, "I just so sleepy. I just so sleepy." I promised him a quick lunch and then rest. While Asher was sleeping, Ezra, Obed, Vince and I all headed outside.
Ezra and daddy spent time building some roads and hills in the sandbox.
Obed spent time trying to get his cart to push across the grass. He HATES the feeling of grass, so he won't crawl in it. He enjoyed trying to push his cart... but not so much when he kept tipping over when the grass tripped him.

I guess Asher is a true Black...we all enjoy a good nap. I'm amazed at how well Obed is getting around. He was just beginning to crawl when you all were here in June. I'm also have trouble believing he will be a year old a month from today! Thanks again for the pictures and stories. It's good for this Grandma's heart.
